Create a Basic Attack

At level 1, you can create a basic attack for your spellcaster. Your basic attack is a ranged spell that deals damage. It has a range of 70 feet (in other words, twice the distance traveled in one move action by a High movement speed character).

There are four options for your basic attack’s damage output, and many more options for the type of damage that your basic attack deals. Damage types are largely for roleplaying flavor.

To create your Basic Attack, choose your damage output, then choose your damage type. For roleplaying purposes, you can also make a note about how you cast your spells (either with incantations or gestures). Read the lore about magic and magic types for more information. Finally, give your Basic Attack a name. Something like "Firebolt" or "Moonbeam" is sufficient.
