Ilisara has a great many relics, artifacts, and treasures whose stories and power are renown across the world. Some have dedicated their lives to tracking down and retrieving these powerful items. Treasure hunters, guilds, and other factions have great interest in legendary artifacts.
The Legendary Gemstones of the Gods
Long ago, the gods created gemstones for every newly-created species in Ilisara to show their favor. It was their wish that no species felt unloved by their creators. These gemstones have since fallen into myth and legend. Only a few of their locations are publicly known.
Ultimar - The legendary gemstone of the orcs. Said to have granted the wielder invincibility. Considered destroyed by most scholars, and the cause of the first eruption of Mok'gram.
Neptulos - The legendary gemstone of the ocean. Said to have granted the wielder control of all water.
Dredilar - The legendary gemstone of the wasteland. Said to have given the wielder the ability to see the future.
Ren’tik - The legendary gemstone of the sky. Said to have granted the wielder the ability to fly at super-sonic speeds.
Eredis - The legendary gemstone of the forest. Said to have granted the wielder the ability to mend any wound, no matter how grave.
Ansil - The legendary gemstone of the forge. Said to have granted the wielder the ability to shape metal to their will.
Mithrus - The legendary gemstone of the dwarves. Said to have granted the wielder the ability to control the earth, and its shapes.
Ilterendi - The legendary gemstone of the elves. Said to have granted the wielder the ability to control and conjure fire of immense magnitude. Currently in Veladriel's possession.
Neral - The gemstone of death. Said to be able to allow the wielder to speak to the dead in the afterlife.
Genar - The gemstone of ice. Said to have given the wielder the ability to freeze anything, and conjure ice at will. Currently in the Star Elves' possession.
Strom'kar, Sword of the God of War
History is not complete without mention of Strom'kar. With this blade, Hejong brought balance to the pantheon and changed the destiny of the world. Strom'kar's story is one of violence and bloodshed, of cunning and tactics; and ultimately, of bravery and sacrifice. It is a long, golden-bronze greatsword whose center groove is filled by the blood of its enemies. Strom'kar's jagged edges catch and break blades. It cannot be lifted except by those who are worthy.
Verun'doris, Shiv of Sovereignty
Forged by Varos and Duros when the world was young, the Sword of Sovereignty was meant to sever a celestial contract between two gods. It was lost to the seas thousands of years ago and shattered into the much-smaller Shiv of Sovereignty. The shiv contains just a sliver of the power it once held.
This brilliant, shimmering shiv is emblazoned with dazzling sunrays. It feels warm to the touch, and its blade is golden-white and partially transparent. The blade passes through corporeal objects and cannot harm them. The radiant shiv lets out a persistent glow approximately the strength of a candle. Around its hilt are twined two gilded chains. At the pommel, the chains shatter into a thousand pieces inside a crystal-clear gemstone cut by the long-lost forge god Duros.
The Stormsea Quintessent
The Stomrsea Quintessent was the heart of a storm giant who fell long ago in Beruna's ancient history. It is a giant glassy/frozen heart that leaks electrified water from its cut off arteries, which pools around it in a lake. Electric eels live in the water. The Stormsea Quintessent beats slowly. Every beat creates a roll of thunder. Anyone who carries a sliver of the Quintessent has power over storms and nearby water currents. Violent storms can be called into existence by the Stormsea Quintessent, such as tsunamis, hurricanes, etc.
Aeon's Timepiece
This timepiece’s watch face is bronze. It features black letters made of sand that spell out each hour of Ilisara’s day. The hour and minute hands are also made of black sand. They scatter and reform to tell the correct time whenever Aeon’s Timepiece is looked at. The timepiece’s case is made of a dark, black substance that looks like obsidian, with tiny flecks of stardust scattered inside it. Those flecks seem to move from time to time.
Aeon’s Timepiece was once a pocket watch on a chain. It hung from Aeon’s coat, and he used it to channel spells. When Hejong threw a continent at Aeon and killed him, the Timepiece was flung through divergent realities before ending up in the sea. Kog’sumoth ate it some time afterward. Although much of the Timepiece’s power has been leeched away, it is still a formidable instrument; one which only someone with divine insight could wield properly.
Kerrigor's Ledger of Souls
Kerrigor's Ledger is an ancient relic used by the now-deceased god of death to record the exact shape, size, and construction of every soul in existence. The Ledger also contains a record of the contributions made by souls to his Afterlife. The Ledger was a well-kept secret, and few knew it even exists; the Ledger was lost after Armageddon.
The Book of Prophecy
Before Vandun perished, he instructed his Chosen on how to build a divine prison to house the sun goddess Veladriel. He also provided information about a divine plan to conquer the world. Vandun's Chosen faithfully transcribed all of his teachings.
Unfortunately, the Chosen perished, and the book fell into the hands of the Inferni. To read a single page of Vandun's words is to be driven mad and suffer extreme neurological trauma. The Inferni have managed nonetheless to translate the book. They captured Veladriel for a few years before she managed to escape.
The Book of Prophecy still rests in Calak'mul, where Vandun's remaining followers have access to it and all of its secrets.
